Red POINT, Night of Churches, Nymburk 2012

Material: plywood, MDF boards, urethane varnish Sometimes a step back is needed to move forward. The spatial composition is made of five boards shaped as simple letters with emphasis on surface and detail. Based on my paper design a computer model was made in collaboration with H3T, which was then used by the Fancik Company to produce the actual sculpture.
The scale was limited by dimensions of the plywood board, which means the size of the folded object was smaller than required. We had to make a plinth, to bring the centre of the composition up to the eye level. The result is more than satisfactory!
Unfortunately, it’s still not a durable metal construction that would survive outside.
