Graffiti is an established thing in our culture, unaccepted and penalised by the mainstream society. This is no surprise because it spreads like wildfire. If someone didn’t regularly fight it, the whole city would be in flames. I try to imagine how it used to be in the beginning, when graffiti did not exist and making pieces was not seen as a threat but rather an interest provoking activity. I try to make an imprint on all the places I have travelled to by making a piece. In the countries, which have not been so massively globalised, it is possible to go back in time by decades and be the very first writer. So the whole operation is an adventure, from buying bad quality spray paint, identifying a suitable wall to reactions from locals, and, of course, the fact that I am the first one to paint on that wall. Because spraying a “fresh” wall is the utmost delight.
