In Prague (mostly in spring) the pavement on the streets is very often broken up on many spots . Pavement stones come loose and it generates random errors in a continuous design. I imagine it being like a short circuit that happens inside a computer and some pixels just simply fall off. I would take the “fallen” off pixels / pavement stones and I would paint them and return them in the same position that I found them. Kids love these painted stones. Interestingly enough is the by me painted "holes" were repaired much quicker than the not painted ones.
